According to the survey, 21 percent of marriages between the ages of 15-24 involve bride price. The economics of marriage can be seen as an income-generating investment tool or a solution that can contribute to people's fight against poverty; for those who are getting married, 'fixing a house', buying household goods, gold coins worn at the wedding or gifts presented at the wedding are attractive as an income. The financial means of the man and his family can also be seen as lifting the girl child out of poverty.[30] In a poor, economically challenged family, it is understandable that a GIRL is married off for bride price.
