RESEARCH FINDINGS Vandana Shiva and Maria Mies' Methodological Principles for Feminist Research in their 1993 book Ecofeminism, which sets out the “dedication of Women's Studies to the goal of Women's Liberation”, guided us throughout the entire process from field research design, data collection, data analysis to the writing of this report. Because, like Shiva and Mies, we always prioritise making the human rights of girls and women and their words, experiences and efforts visible and indispensable by saying ‘experience and struggle come before theoretical research’ [11]. Methodological Principles for Feminist Research Value judgement-free research: partial identification with research objects with conscious bias More authentic and valid data collection with a bottom view instead of a top (vertical) view Seeing research as an integral part of the struggle: integrating research into social and political action ‘If you want to know something, you have to change it.": Confronting real social relations, seeing the deception Making the research process a process of consciousness-raising: examination, expression and manifestation of the oppressed Collective consciousness raising accompanied by research into women's individual and social history Women taking over their own history by collectivising their own experiences [11] Shiva and Mies (1993), Page 32 22
